Market Art Fair
Gustav Gaston
16.05 - 18.05.25
In this solo presentation, Gustav Gaston delves into
the overlooked architectural elements that dot our
urban skylines. Sculptures modeled on the forms of
rooftop antennas and 5G towers transform
these functional structures into enigmatic art
objects, allowing viewers to encounter their pure
form stripped of utility. The work questions the
autonomy of objects, presenting them not as transmitters of data but as symbols of our ever-shifting built environment, standing as both relics and
icons of a modern landscape.
The material choices amplify this shift, weaving
together found objects, directly sourced industrial
materials, and traditional sculptural mediums like
plaster and wax.
